Using Your Benefits

At the Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP), the safety of your personal information is our top priority. To help you, we’re highlighting some resourceful information to support you to do the same. We have detailed processes and procedures when it comes to collecting your personal information and checks and balances in place to ensure it’s secure.
Here are a few ways to keep your information secure and keep you safe from benefit fraud:
- Check your claims history on My ASEBP regularly to help spot any claims that were not actioned by you. If you do find something questionable, contact us for assistance.
- Don’t share your ASEBP ID number with anyone besides your health and dental care providers.
- Know that ASEBP will never contact you by phone or email to request your Social Insurance Number (SIN) or My ASEBP login information. If we require your SIN, it’ll always be collected through official ASEBP forms. When you reach out to us, we may request certain information—for example, your name, ASEBP ID number or postal code—to verify your identity. The key is that these types of requests are made when you initiate contact with us.
